Rising Voices: Poetry in Motion will intersperse the incredible acrobatic feats and poetic performances of Club Fugazi's premier show, Dear San Francisco, with poet-athletes from America SCORES Bay Area. Guests will see the best acts of one of the best shows around!
Joined by former Beach Blanket Babylon star and "singing auctioneer," Ellen Toscano, we will celebrate the power of physicality and poetry while raising funds for Bay Area SCORES' unique and powerful blend of after-school programming for under-served youth.
ABOUT AMERICA SCORES BAY AREA
America SCORES Bay Area is a vital part of the community, addressing the identified need for accessible, high-quality after-school programming and youth development. We serve approximately 5,000 Bay Area elementary and middle school students each year and will expand to 6,000 by the end of this year.
Our unique program, which includes poetry, service learning, and soccer, significantly impacts physical health and well-being, academic engagement, and social-emotional development. It helps our poet-athletes build healthy bodies, hearts, and minds, contributing to the overall well-being of the Bay Area community. Our Mission: to empower children to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged and collaborative students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world.
SCORES relies on donors like you and partner organizations to deliver, grow, and succeed. With your help, within five years, we intend to expand to provide impact to over 10,000 kids in all nine Bay Area Counties.
